GoMini magazine, for enthusiasts of the new Mini, has appointed a new editor and will increase its frequency to monthly in next year following the growth in the car’s popularity.
Helen Webster joins the title from stablemate Mini Magazine – aimed at fans of the classic model- where she was also editor.
Launched by A&S Publishing as a bi-monthly this time last year, Webster said sales and subscriptions of GoMini had increased from around 12,000 to 17,000 in line with the growing market. She said the new Mini model was launched in 2001 and became BMW’s fastest-selling car prompting the launch of GoMini.
Webster joined A&S Publishing in 1999 as a sub and worked her way up to edit Mini Magazine which she has done for three years.
She said: “Joining a title that’s going from bi-monthly to monthly will be a challenge, it will be exciting to see a market evolve and to respond to that.”
She added: “It will be looking more at what people can do with their new Mini and where they can go with it.
“Also, rather than just having people who are famous in the motoring world we will be looking at other celebrities who are into new Minis.”
The first monthly issue will publish on 13 January 2005.
