Washington Post scoops six Pulitzer Prizes

By Rachael

The Washington Post won six Pulitzer prizes including the public service category for its reporting on the standards of care of recent war veterans and breaking news category for its coverage of the massacre at Virginia Tech in April last year.

The Post’s rival, the New York Times, won two awards.

Adrees Latif of Reuters won the award for breaking news photography for his picture of Japanese videographer Kenji Nagai, who was fatally wounded covering a demonstration during last year’s protests in Burma.

The full list of winners is on the Pulitzer Prize website.
