UBM mulls sale of top trade titles as it launches strategic review

By Gavriel Hollander

B2B publisher UBM has launched a “strategic review” of some of its top titles, with a sale one of the options up for discussion.

Staff at UBM were told this afternoon about the review, which involves Property Week, Building Design and Travel Trade Gazette.

Press Gazette understands that the options under consideration are to invest more resources into the titles, sell them or retain them as they are. Any sale would be expected to include all events associated with the three titles.

Last year, the publisher reported a revenue increase of 2 per cent, with profit up by 1.6 per cent. However, first quarter trading was tougher in 2013, with revenue down 7.9 per cent year-on-year and profit down 24 per cent.

UBM declined to comment.
