Debbie Ward has been promoted to features editor of Travel Trade Gazette, the weekly magazine for travel agents published by CMP Information.
She has been deputy features editor on the magazine since 2000 and previously worked on sister publication TTG Europa.
Ward said she planned to lighten the look and tone of the features pages, which are mainly used by travel agents for advice on how to sell holidays.

She said: “Obviously, it’s a particularly difficult time for our readers with the war in Iraq and the SARS outbreak in Asia denting public confidence in travel.
“I plan to build up our relationship with readers by encouraging their greater input in features and placing a stronger emphasis on coverage of training and trip opportunities available to them.”
In her new role she will also be responsible for editing Travel Trade Gazette supplements.
