Grantham Journal photographer Toby Roberts always wanted to skydive, but it took a charity drive and a dare for him to exit the plane before waiting for it to land, writes Chris Deschamps.
‘Somebody dared me to do it, and I did,’said Toby, 27. The 10,000ft dive over Langar Airfield, in Lincolnshire, so far has raised at least £400 for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity, which is currently celebrating its 60th anniversary. Donations still coming in.
Roberts, who’s been at the Journal for more than eight years, did the freefall tandem jump with an instructor. And while initially nervous, he enjoyed the experience so much that he’s thinking about learning how to solo dive. ‘It was definitely worth doing,’he said.
