Communications minister Stephen Carter is tipped to be leaving the government to return to the private sector after the Digital Britain report is published.
According to the Times, the former Ofcom and Brunswick chief executive has told Gordon Brown that he will only serve until July and hoped for a “low-key exit” over the summer recess.
“I’m beavering away feverishly on my report [due out on Tuesday], that’s my only preoccupation,” he told the paper.
