Award-winning journalist Ruth Tierney takes over the helm of the features desk of Prima magazine.
The move follows former features editor Ruth Devine’s decision to leave the title to concentrate on writing a book. Tierney has been with the Prima magazine features team for a year and a half. She joined Prima from the Brighton Argus where she was a senior reporter.
She said: “I had always wanted to get into magazines but thought that starting out in newspapers and working to daily deadlines would give me a good grounding.”
Tierney was highly commended in the New Journalist of the Year category at the PTC awards in 2003 for an article about 1950s women being fitter than today due to all the housework they did.
