Three journalism students at the University of Central Lancashire are going straight on to The Sun after winning places on a traineeship offered in conjunction with the Press Association.
Mark Hudson, editor of student newspaper Pluto, postgraduate student Andrew Ewart and final year undergraduate Dean Scoggins are all making their way to Wapping.
Hudson said: "It's always been The Sun for me, I never really wanted to work anywhere else, so to be given this opportunity is fantastic."
They start their course in July with an intensive four weeks at PA, followed by a stint honing their skills in regional newsrooms before joining The Sun.
The three saw off competition from 1,000 applicants to get accepted on the scheme.
Head of training at the Press Association, Tony Johnston, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for all those involved. The training they will receive is second to none."
