Former Wigan journalist Phil Thomas has joined North Wales company Outwrite Public Relations, writes Sarah Lagan.
Previously a news and sports writer on the Wigan Evening Post and the Wigan Observer, he will be working for several consumer and business-to-business clients in areas such as tourism, publishing and business innovation.
Thomas, who has written a book chronicling the history of Wigan rugby league club, also managed and marketed his own business in Anglesey.
He said: “I am delighted to join Outwrite and am looking forward to working on the wide range of accounts that it looks after. Having run my own business, I can anticipate its clients’ needs and understand the business issues that affect them.”
Former journalist Tracy North set up Outwrite Public Relations in Mold, Flintshire, in 1994.
The team of former journalists working with her have professional backgrounds in regional and national press and public relations.
North said: “Phil’s experience both as a journalist and a business owner will be of great benefit to this company as we work with our clients to maintain their high profiles.”
