They’re married to the Mirror job

By Press Gazette

The Daily Mirror will be represented in the US by a husband-and-wife team.

Anthony Harwood and Tanith Carey share US editor status, replacing Richard Wallace, who is now No2 at the Sunday Mirror. Harwood will cover news and Carey features.

“This is not just a way of escaping Big Brother. It is a fantastic challenge and opportunity for both of us to really make our mark on America,” Harwood said. “The news/features set-up makes perfect sense and will enable us to concentrate on bringing out the best in each of our areas.”

Carey said: “I know that I will work brilliantly with Anthony who, quite apart from the fact he is my husband, I rate very highly as a news journalist. Otherwise I wouldn’t have married him.”

Editor Piers Morgan said: “It’s the dream team in every sense. The fact they’re married and live together should keep the bills down a bit too.”
