CMPi has overhauled the Practitioner magazine, to make the journal
digestible to its time conscious GP readership within five minutes.
The
redesign includes a ‘Five minute practitioner’ update section, to help
GPs to quickly identify what’s new and what has changed in each issue.
The title also promises include in-depth analysis of practical changes
in clinical medicine and a quiz that lets GPs test themselves on key
learning points, all within in a multi-coloured, section-linked look.
Gavin
Atkin, editor of the Practitioner said: “Using GP focus groups to guide
the new format we have produced a practical magazine that fits
perfectly with the busy working lives of GPs. One big change is that
we’ve taken the innovative step of placing the Five Minute Practitioner
on pages two and three to inform readers quickly what they can pick up
from each issue. This means we achieve the immediacy that technical
magazines require in the age of the internet.”
He added: “We have
put a quiz on page four that examines readers’ knowledge of each
issue’s subjects, and to help them judge for themselves which articles
they need to study.”
