The Guardian’s champagne socialists vs City boys

By Grey Cardigan greyblog

‘The gap between rich and poor is wider then ever,’said the standfirst in The Guardian’s G2 supplement.

‘In an extract from their new book, Polly Toynbee and David Walker describe the jaw-dropping arrogance they encountered when they asked some of the fat cats to justify their lives of luxury.”

Excuse me, but on which side does the arrogance lie? On the part of well-paid champagne socialists who work for an organisation protected from the harsh commercial realities of modern corporate life, or from wide boys who take their chances and then pay the price when the cold wind of recession blows through the City?

I know this much – Polly Toynbee isn’t going to be made redundant and left struggling to pay off a vast fucking mortgage following a round of knee-jerk cost-cutting by a gutless management.
