Scotland’s national news agency, the Scottish Press Association, has appointed Rachel Blackburn to the newly created role of Scottish features editor.
Based in Glasgow, Blackburn will be responsible for expanding the agency’s output of features to newspapers, magazines and new media customers.
Blackburn has 10 years’ experience in features and news.
After starting at the Press Association four years ago as a reporter in Scotland, she was based in Los Angeles for a year as West Coast editor, covering celebrity news and features.
In March 2003 she returned to the UK as chief reporter and deputy editor in Scotland, before heading up the news operation of the newly formed Scottish Press Association.
Blackburn will work closely with Mandy Appleyard, head of features at the Press Association, and Clare Stephen, head of development at the Scottish Press Association.
