Scotland escapes Mail price rise

By Press Gazette

The Daily Mail upped its price from 40p to 45p this week — but chose not to do so in Scotland, where a price war is under way between the Scottish Sun at 10p and the Daily Record, which sells for 15p with a voucher. The Mail was forced to print an apology after a production error saw the price rise explanation included in its tartan edition.

The Daily Express has raised its price back up to 35p after previously cutting it from 40p to 30p. The Daily Telegraph’s price has gone up to £1.30 on Saturdays, bringing it level with The Independent and The Guardian on that day.
