Sales bonanza for Echo

By Press Gazette

The success of Southampton Football Club in reaching the FA Cup final has proved a sales bonanza for the Southern Daily Echo. Supporters snapped up 48,000 copies of the 14 April edition reporting their victory over Watford in the semi-final at Villa Park. From the moment the final whistle was blown at 6.15pm on Sunday, Echo editorial staff put together more than 20 pages of reports, reaction and pictures. Plans are already being made for special souvenir supplements to commemorate the final, in which Saints take on Arsenal on 17 May.
