Fighting for quality news media in the digital age.

RAF uses Bauer to push recruitment

By Rachael Gallagher

Bauer brands including Heat and Zoo will be taking part in a recruitment drive for the Royal Air Force.

Bauer Media has teamed up with the Central Office of Information to produce a multi-platform campaign for the RAF to recruit staff.

Starting this week, the seven-week campaign will see Heat, Zoo, More! Kerrang as well as Bauer radio stations carry advertorials and editorial interviews with two celebrities carrying out RAF training tasks.

Darren Jeffries and Matt Littler, known as Max and OB from Hollyoaks, will report on their experiences and additional commentary will come from RAF mentors.

Bauer Media will also be using its North West recruitment site, Workmoose, to promote the RAF recruitment drive.

Campaign activity will direct consumers to a micro-site where full details of Jeffries and Littler’s RAF experiences will be available with a link to the RAF recruitment website.

Adrian Serle, commercial development director at Bauer Media, said: ‘The creative we have designed works well across all our brand platforms and uses two well-known faces as ambassadors to encourage the audience to engage and take interest in the recruitment opportunities available in the RAF.”
