Plot to ‘kill’ Danish Muhammad cartoonist foiled by police

By Patrick

The BBC is reporting that Danish police have arrested five people accused of plotting to kill the newspaper cartoonist responsible for last year’s international row over cartoons of the Muslim prophet Muhammad.

Police are not releasing the name of the target, but in a statement on its website newspaper Jyllands-Posten said that its cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, 76, had been the centre of the plot. He and his wife have been under police protection for three months.
