Gay website PinkNews is planning to launch its spin-off magazine edition as a free standalone by the end of 2007, but editorial director David Harvey says the first priority is to increase advertising revenues on the web.
The magazine version of Pink News was launched in June last year, and is currently only available as an insert in Brighton-based gay lifestyle title 3Sixty, which has a circulation of 20,000.
Harvey said: “When you’re running a business, you only have so much money, but it is our intention to go national.” PinkNews is seeing in the new year with a change in its editorial team. Tony Grew has replaced web editor Marc Shoffman, who has taken a job as senior reporter at Jewish News.
Grew is now news editor at Pinknews.co.uk after joining as political correspondent in August last year.
