Press Gazette chief sub-editor Malcolm Starbrook is to edit the East
London Advertiser . Starbrook returns to the Advertiser , now published
by Archant, where he began his career as a trainee reporter in 1969.
He said: “The Advertiser has always been my local paper, even though
I left so many years ago. I have really enjoyed being at Press Gazette
, especially in terms of the redesign and the Big Edit.”
Starbrook
was previously group editor for 14 years at the Croydon Advertiser and
is a former Trinity Mirror Southern editor-in-chief.
Press
Gazette editor Ian Reeves added: “Malcolm’s experience, knowledge of
the industry and calmness under pressure have been an immense asset to
Press Gazette during a time of great change for the magazine. The
success of our redesign has been in no small measure thanks to his
efforts.”
