The lawyer acting on behalf of Tony Blair in a privacy case against the Daily Mail has warned that the ‘excesses’of paparazzi have worsened in the past 10 years. Graham Atkins, from Atkins Solicitors, won ‘substantial damages”after the Daily Mail published long-lens photographs of Cherie Blair sunbathing at a private villa in Barbados during the summer. Atkins said: ‘When celebrities are 500 or 700 yards away from the public in a private place they have the expectation of privacy,’he said.
