Some BBC types at Television Centre are becoming increasingly frustrated at the dumbing down of some programmes ‒ in particular flagship Panorama.
One journalist has complained to Axegrinder: “It is now targeted at an audience incapable of maintaining an attention span of more than half an hour.â€
My man adds that this week’s programme (Monday 10 September) about African boat people had to be edited down because interviewees were deemed to speak in “funny voices†and the higher-ups decided viewers wouldn’t want to read too many subtitles.
Depressing stuff, I say. Standards should certainly be kept up!
