Some BBC types at Television Centre are becoming increasingly frustrated at the dumbing down of some programmes Ã¢â‚¬’ in particular flagship Panorama.
One journalist has complained to Axegrinder: Ã¢â‚¬Å“It is now targeted at an audience incapable of maintaining an attention span of more than half an hour.Ã¢â‚¬
My man adds that this weekÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s programme (Monday 10 September) about African boat people had to be edited down because interviewees were deemed to speak in Ã¢â‚¬Å“funny voicesÃ¢â‚¬ and the higher-ups decided viewers wouldnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t want to read too many subtitles.
Depressing stuff, I say. Standards should certainly be kept up!
