Online listings pay for Time Out

By Press Gazette

Time Out has claimed its success in the latest ABCs justifies the "bold step" of putting its London listings online.

The city's listing magazine posted a weekly ABC of 92,233 for the period Jan-June 2006 from 88,851 in the same period in 2005, a rise of 4 per cent year on year. The increased circulation will be seen as validation for Time Out's redesign carried out under editor Gordon Thomson, who took over in August two years ago.

Thomson, who moved from the deputy editor role at Observer Sports Monthly, stripped Time Out of its celebrity cover stories and towards a much more London-focused editorial.

Earlier this year, Time Out founder Tony Elliott announced plans to expand the brand for the first time with launches in Manchester and Liverpool.
