Food and travel magazine Olive is beefing up its editorial with four new appointments, following a successful debut ABC result.
Published by the BBC Food Group, the magazine recorded an initial ABC of 63,517.
Lulu Grimes, who joined Olive at its launch as food editor, has been promoted to assistant editor. Grimes worked for Fox Publishing’s Food & Travel magazine prior to joining Olive and her experience in the industry has worked in her favour.
Janine Ratcliffe, who has freelanced for Olive since September, joins the team full-time as food editor.
Previously she worked on BBC Good Food Magazine.
Olive’s production editor, Jenny McIvor, has secured the role of features editor and freelance sub-editor Daniela Bertollo fills her role.
McIvor has worked on Elle Decoration as chief-sub/production editor and has contributed to Time Out’s Pub and Bar Guide, while Bertollo was production/features editor for Australian Delicious.
BBC Food Group’s other food title, BBC Good Food, was 6 per cent down, but is taking on Family Circle food and drink editor Emma Lewis as food editor.
Lewis replaces Angela Nilsen, who has left to become freelance.
BBC Food Group publisher Nicki Hill said: “Now we are achieving combined sales of over 400,000 for our food magazines, it’s important to get the best editorial talent on board. I’m delighted we’ve found such fantastic key staff for Good Food and Olive.”
