Old friends show up for lavish Davies do

By Axegrinder axeblog

To Soho House last week for the swish leaving do for Tristan Davies, recently departed editor of the Independent on Sunday.

He must have been chuffed by those old guard types who showed up, including Glover, the media columnist, and Janet Street-Porter. More surprisingly, Simon Kelner was there, too. While Kelner and Davies were once “firm friends”, sources say they’ve spoken very little in the past three months.

I’m told Davies’s lawyers were still putting the final touches to his leaving settlement on the day of his shindig.
