New professor at London journalism training centre

By Press Gazette

Former News of the World and Sunday People editor Wendy Henry is to join a London journalism training centre as “Professor of Anecdotes”.

Henry joins noSWeat journalism training based in Islington, where she will be giving NCTJ students a taste of the world of national tabloid reporting illustrated with real life examples.

Course director Stephen Ward said: “It is important students get a flavour of the cut and thrust of journalism. Wendy’s knowledge of Fleet Street and the ups and downs of working for proprietors such as Rupert Murdoch and Robert Maxwell will do just that.”

The centre prepares students for NCTJ prelims on full-time and part-time courses. It is launching a series of new courses covering topics such as reporting war and its aftermath; working as a foreign correspondent; writing leaders; lobbying Parliament; interviewing the stars, writing for the tabloids and satirical journalism.

The courses start in March.
