Real-life weekly magazine Love it! has appointed Karen Bryans as its new deputy editor.
Bryans, who is currently deputy editor of That’s Life! magazine, will replace Caroline Reid, who left the Hubert Burda Media UK title earlier this month.
In her new role Bryans will be reunited with Jo Checkley who was named as the new editor of Love It! last week after an announcement that she was leaving the editorship of That’s Life!
Luke Patten, chief executive of Hubert Burda Media UK, said: “We are delighted that Jo and Karen have decided to join Love It!
“They are a proven and talented editorial partnership and I very much look forward to working with them both.”
The appointments of Checkley and Bryans follows the departure of several senior editorial staff from Love It! in recent weeks.
Checkley, who will replace former editor Siobhan Wykes, has been tasked with overseeing the appointment of a new editorial team for the magazine.
Audit Bureau of Circulations figures released last month revealed that average weekly sales of Love It had fallen by 16.5 per cent year-on-year to 283,379 in the second half of last year.
Burda UK, which acquired the magazine last year from News International, has allocated a significant TV advertising budget to Love It for summer 2010, Patten told Press Gazette earlier this month.
