Music Week editor departs for the charts

By Press Gazette

Music Week editor Martin Talbot is to leave the magazine to take up a new post at the Official Charts Company.

Talbot, who has been editor of CMPi’s music industry weekly for the past five years, will join the OCC on October 1 to take up the newly-created role of managing director.

The OCC, a joint venture between UK recorded music industry association the BPI and Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA), collects, analyses and markets sales information on the UK’s music and video industries.

“After five years editing Music Week, I am delighted to be given the opportunity of running a business with such a successful track record – and such potential – as the OCC,” Talbot said.

Music Week has just unveiled a redesign of the magazine which will be followed by an overhaul of its subscription-based website.
