Maxim allows readers to subcribe via their mobiles

By Press Gazette

Maxim readers will be able to subscribe to the magazine via their
mobile phones, in a new deal between its publishers and the Paypal
service.

Dennis has signed to PayPal's ‘Text to Buy' service –
the first time a UK publication has enabled a mobile payment system to
process subscriptions – as it launches in the UK.

Matt Jerwood,
head of mobile at Dennis said: "Enabling PayPal mobile payments for
Maxim's subscription mechanic was an obvious step, employing the latest
technology to benefit our readers.

"While cut-out forms and
telephone lines will remain a subscription standard for some time to
come, mobile is fast becoming the consumer medium of choice and we are
always keen to embrace innovation that represents a 21st century
publishing model and our multi modal approach to business."

2006
has already saw a plethora of publications launch mobile content – from
full publications to bite size news alerts – from some of the biggest
publications like Heat, Glamour, Time Out and OK!
