Matthew Wright tipped for new Five evening news show

By paulmcnally

Matthew Wright is being tipped to present a revamped evening news and current affairs show on Five, which is set to replace its 7pm news bulletin.

The changes come as Natasha Kaplinsky returns to the channel next week from maternity leave, a year after she joined Five as its star newsreader from the BBC.

According to the Daily Mail, she will front the 5pm early evening news but does not want to do the 7pm bulletin.

The later bulletin will become more of a current affairs magazine, similar in style to BBC1’s The One Show, according to the paper.
