Match to go ahead

By Press Gazette

Match is sending its editorial team out to Portugal ahead of the European football championships.

The title is also hoping to capitalise on the event by increasing its distribution and giving away a free cover-mounted gift for each of its tournament issues, including a wallchart, posters, face paints, trump cards and a St George’s flag.

Match will feature predictions from big Premiership names and interviews from all the finalists.

Radio One’s Comedy Dave has been signed up to write a lighthearted weekly report on Euro 2004. Editor Simon Caney said: “We have had a brilliant series of cover-mounts that have given us a fantastic launch pad in the run-up to Euro 2004, and after that the football itself will sell the magazine.”
