After five years as Observer business editor, Frank Kane is planning to step down to take up a new writing role.
"I
think five years is long enough and I want to do some more writing," he
said. "I'm going to write across the paper with a business slant and
try to crack some big stories."
No successor for Kane has yet been named.
Meanwhile, at The Daily Telegraph, Damian Reece has been promoted from deputy City editor to the number one slot on the business desk.
Deputy
editor Will Lewis had been in charge of City coverage after being first
appointed City editor in August. He will now concentrate on overseeing
the newspaper's move from Canary Wharf to Victoria.
Reece, 39, was previously City editor on The Independent for two years and before that spent four years as assistant City editor on The Sunday Telegraph.
