Journalism Matters podcast: Empire editor Terri White on how to make it in the world of magazines

For episode two of the Press Gazette Journalism Matters podcast I talk to inspirational Empire editor Terri White.

She explains how she went from ordering the biros at a now defunct men's magazine to becoming a multi-awarding winning editor (running Stylist and Time Out New York before moving to her current job). How she owes it all to an early boss who regularly made her cry. And why, for her, seeing a reader who loves her latest magazine is better than getting to sit in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon.

White also talks about the secrets of film monthly Empire's gravity-defying circulation success, up two per cent year on year to more than 145,000 in the last set of ABCs.
