Jersey paper closes down

By Press Gazette

Jersey’s free weekly newspaper the Jersey Metro has ceased publication after 14 months.

According
to Jerry Ramsden, managing director of publisher the Guiton Group,
Jersey Metro failed to attract enough interest from advertisers.

Staff
who worked on the Metro will continue to work on sister title the
Jersey Evening Post, into which some elements of the Metro will be
incorporated.

The Guiton Group is also investing in a £3 million redevelopment of the Guernsey Press’s Braye Road headquarters.
