With their constant demands for copy and endless queries, news editors are not always the most popular people.
But
Jenny Eagle, at Hounslow and London Newspapers, has proved that you can
get the job done and be a hit with the staff by being named the best
boss in London.
Staff emailed her name in after Time Out magazine asked for nominations.
Trainee
reporter Russell Hardy said: “Even when it’s pretty stressful she
always makes sure we get out for lunch and I think that means you’re
more productive and more relaxed in the afternoon. She also pushes us
so we get our work done and get home at a reasonable time.”
As a prize, Eagle was chauffeured to a top London restaurant with three of her staff on Friday night.
She
is news editor of Trinity Mirror’s Kensington & Chelsea News,
Westminster and Pimlico News, Marylebone and Paddington Mercury and the
Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle.
