ITN to make More4 news programme

By Press Gazette

ITN will make the daily news programme for Channel 4’s new
free-toair digital channel More4, which is due to launch in October
this year.

The half-hour programme will build on the strengths of
Channel 4 News but has a brief to analyse a selection of the day’s
biggest news stories in more depth and from a unique perspective.

Jim
Gray, editor at Channel 4 News, said: “We’re planning a programme which
will include reportage, analysis and international coverage. In
addition, we’ll also be seeking to break new ground to give
multi-channel viewers an innovative take and a range of different
perspectives on what’s happening here and in the rest of the world.”

Peter
Dale, head of More4, said: “We’ve got ambitious programming plans for
More4, a key focus of which will be this new daily news programme.”
