Incisive Media has pledged support for Press Gazette’s campaign against Government plans that would weaken the Freedom of Information Act.
Incisive Media group editorial services director David Worsfold said he was “very much opposed” to the proposed restrictions.
He told Press Gazette: “We have encouraged our journalists to use the Freedom of Information Act, although I don’t think they have been that pro-active. “Personally, I have used it to apply for information from the Financial Services Authority.
“I find that they already hide behind the ‘it is too difficult, too costly, too much information’ opt-out in the current legislation, although some of this was the fault of my early, relatively unsophisticated enquiries.”
