Immediate Media launches new art magazine for girls

Immediate Media has launched a new monthly magazine called Girl Talk Art.

The magazine, which is aimed at 7-12 year old girls, is on sale now for £2.99 following the success of a one-off edition in February 2012.

Girl Talk Art is an extension of sister title Girl Talk, which has an average fortnightly circulation of 51,463.

The new title will focus on drawing, painting and craft, including step-by-step guides and art techniques.

It will also feature interviews with artists and fashion designers.

Freelance Joanna Tubbs has been recruited as deputy editor and journalists will be drafted in from other Immediate titles to work on the new magazine.

Editor of Girl Talk Art, Bea Appleby (who also edits Girl Talk), said ‘We are really pleased that the Girl Talk Art one-shot has been so well received.

‘There has been such an enthusiastic response from our readers who love being creative and use Girl Talk Art to expand their interest.

Associate publisher Martin Stahel added: ‘Arts and crafts is a massive hobby for girls aged 7-12 with 58 per cent of them expressing their creativity through drawing, collaging, fashion design and many other mediums every week.

‘Girl Talk Art is set to expand the girls’ magazine category with something unique for new and existing magazine buyers.”
