IPC has promoted Jackie Hatton, formerly deputy editor of Woman’s Own, to the editor’s post at Woman, following the departure of Sarah Edwards in January.
Hatton started working at IPC in 1987, and has also worked on IPC monthly title Woman & Home.
Former Reveal editor Edwards quit Woman after just four months in the post, following disagreements over the future of the title. She had left Reveal to find a role at a more family-focused magazine.
Hatton said: "I’m delighted to be joining Woman and look forward to working with the team to truly release the potential of this fabulous household name.
"I take with me fond memories of my time at Woman’s Own and would like to thank my former colleagues, and especially Woman’s Own’s editor, Elsa McAlonan, for the wonderful support I have received during my time there."
In common with many of the mature women’s weeklies, sales of Woman dropped significantly in February’s ABCs, down 13.5 per cent to 456,524 copies a week.
