Hachette Filipacchi has appointed Lisa Helmanis to edit the online version of Red magazine which is set to launch later in the autumn.
Helmanis, who has been working for the magazine publisher as a consultant since January last year, will primarily be charged with building the editorial team, overseeing content and building the e-commerce aspect of the site which is expected to launch in November.
The new site aims to be a ‘one-stop-shop’for readers, the publisher says, with a new shopping facility covering a range of products and services including beauty and travel.
Anna Jones, Hachette Filipacchi digital and strategy director, said: ‘We are really excited about Red’s website, which will be unique in its market in being a tool to help women get the most out of their daily lives.
‘We are delighted to have Lisa on board with her extensive expertise bringing brands to life online alongside her dedicated and talented editorial team, and we are looking forward to developing valuable, creative and inspiring daily content, backed by strong commercial partnerships.”
Helmanis was previously head of editorial at MyDeco and prior to this was editor of Candid magazine and editor of Sunday Times Insideout magazine.
She has already assembled a sizeable editorial team to work online including Ben Cooper, formerly editorial director at Travel Intelligence, as Travel Editor and Hannah Roche, previously on Stella magazine, as fashion and beauty editor.
In addition, Charlotte Gunn has joined from the website Good to Know as features and lifestyle editor, while Amy James has been appointed as interiors assistant, Rachel Kenworthy as fashion and beauty assistant and Ginny Henry moves over from Red magazine to be the website’s picture editor.
