Artwork by Howard Hodgkin appears in a new colouring book for children produced by The Guardian, writes Mary Stevens.
It features original work by 32 artists including David Hockney, Damien Hirst, Maggi Hambling, Chris Ofili and Jake and Dinos Chapman.
The 36-page book, produced in association with Modern Painters and Artworks, will be published to coincide with Children’s Art Day.
The book will be distributed with the paper next Tuesday.
The newspaper has also produced an extra 100,000 copies of the book to be distributed by Unicef to children in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Ivory Coast.
Jeannette Page, editor of Education Guardian, said: “The colouring book looks fantastic and should appeal to adults and children alike. We hope it will introduce children to the arts and go some way to encourage their own creativity.”
