Linda Genower, managing director of IPC Connect, retired last week after more than 20 years with the company.
She joined IPC in 1983 as a graduate trainee and during her time launched What’s on TV and relaunched TV Times in 1991 following the deregulation of TV listings.
Since 1998, she has been managing director of IPC Connect, which includes Now, Woman, Woman’s Own, Chat, Woman’s Weekly and Mizz.
She said: “After 20 years at IPC, I’ve decided it’s time for a change. I’ve had a wonderful career and been privileged to work with some of the best people in the business. Now I’m looking forward to a change of pace and passions, swapping this urban lifestyle for the rural pleasures of Sussex.”
Sylvia Auton, IPC’s new chief executive, said: “Linda is a colossus in the industry. It’s rare to find such a combination of tenacity, creativity, talent and compassion.”
