Ten Alps, the factual TV production company co founded by Bob
Geldof, has bought public sector media and contract publishing company
McMillan-Scott.
The move is said by Ten Alps to “to enhance its
development of public sector internet and digital TV beyond its
existing interest in the Teachers’ TV project” and includes over 300
publications like Accounting Technican, Community Practitioner and
Magistrate magazine.
The TV company will acquire the publishers for up to £12.25m, dependant on the latter’s performance up to December 2006.
McMillan-Scott
has approximately 250 staff based in London, Macclesfield and
Manchester offices with titles covering almost every segment of the
public sector and clients including government agencies, local
authorities, trade associations and professional institutes. The
acquisition will allow the company to explore internet and digital TV
options amongst this client base.
