Guardian deputy foreign editor Amelia Gentleman is moving to Paris as the the paper increases its French coverage.
Gentleman, who has been at The Guardian since 1997, will join Jon Henley in Paris. They will also report for The Observer.
Feature writer Sally Weale has become editor of the health pages and Merope Mills has been appointed assistant features editor from commissioning features editor. Mills has been replaced by Amy Fleming, previously editorial assistant on the women’s page.
James Meek, the newspaper’s science correspondent, will become a full-time feature writer.
He has worked as religious affairs editor and also covered the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The Guardian has also appointed Salam Pax, otherwise known as the Baghdad Blogger, to write a column in G2 every other Wednesday.
