A free guide telling journalists how to make the most of the Freedom of Information Act has been produced by law firm Reynolds Porter Chamberlain.
The Act came into force on January 1 and contains a large number of conditions and exemptions.
Media law partner Keith Mathieson, who wrote the guide, said: “Journalists may have to go on the offensive to acquire the information they seek.
“Knowledge of your rights under the new Act will be crucial.”
