The former chief executive of Trinity Mirror, Philip Graf, has joined regional newspaper group Archant as a non-executive director.
Graf, who was chief executive of Trinity Mirror until 2002, is currently deputy chairman of the media and communications regulator Ofcom.
Archant chairman Richard Jewson said: “We are delighted that Philip Graf has decided to join us. He brings with him a depth of industry knowledge and experience in the regional press, digital media and regulatory matters that will complement and further strengthen the Board.”
Graf said: “I am very pleased to be joining such a strong team at Archant, at a time of great change and challenge for the industry. I look forward to playing my part in helping the Board develop the business.”
Graf was appointed chief executive of Trinity International Holdings in 1993. When the company merged with the Mirror Group in 1999, he became chief executive of the Trinity Mirror Group.
Philip is a former director of the Press Association and former chairman of the Press Standards Board of Finance. In 2003 he conducted the government review of the BBC’s online activities.
