Former Express man dies after bike accident

By Press Gazette

A former Daily Express photographer described as "one of the newspaper's great characters" has died after a cycling accident.

James Milne, 63, had been ill for eight months after suffering serious head injuries while riding with his 13-year-old son in Cowdale, Derbyshire.

His former picture editor John Knill said in today's Express: "He was the ultimate professional whose energy and enthusiasm were boundless.

"He could turn his hand to anything from royalty, sport and fashion to the whimsical and tragic. He lived life to the full and he will be sadly missed."
