As ever, the national newspaper circulation battle was a tough one in December with just five titles putting copies on to their headline ABC sale.
The paper putting on the most copies was the Mail on Sunday – going up 1.17 per cent to 2,241,752 average daily sales. Percentage wise the biggest riser year-on-year was The Observer – up 1.27 per cent to 435,852.
The biggest loser (excluding the Sunday Sport) was The Standard, down 18.1 per cent year-on-year and still feeling the tough effects of competing with two rival evening frees.
