Editor quits IPC’s Wedding and Home for Oz job

By Press Gazette

Wedding and Home editor Christine Hayes is leaving to edit its sister title, Bride To Be, in Australia.

Last year Hayes spent two months in Sydney working with Bride to Be editor Rebecca Lowrey and that has prompted her to stay on a more permanent basis.

"It was amazing, I just fell in love with the place," said Hayes.

The secondment was originally supposed to be a direct job-swap but the plans fell through when Lowrey decided to widen her remit to work outside the bridal sector.

The move became possible because Wedding and Home publisher IPC had a joint venture with ACP owner of Bride To Be.

Hayes said the bridal titles were very similar, although the Australian team on Bride To Be is much smaller.

She has edited Wedding and Home for nearly six years and was previously deputy editor of Looks and beauty editor of More!

Hayes is due to leave for Australia 5 June and IPC is in the process of recruiting a replacement.
