ITV News
is revamping its News at Ten Thirty presenting team for the New Year
and has poached Mark Eddo from the BBC to become the programme’s
business correspondent.
Eddo joins ITV News from the BBC, where
he has reported on the financial markets for BBC One and BBC News 24
for the past three years.
He has also presented the World
Business Report on BBC World. Prior to that he worked as a reporter and
presenter for MSNBC, the Dow Jones The Wall Street Journal Report and
CNBC Europe.
From the New Year, Mark Austin will anchor the late
news bulletin and Felicity Barr will present the sport. ITV News’
political editor Tom Bradby and chief political correspondent Daisy
McAndrew will analyse the big stories of the day. Geraint Vincent will
take over as sports correspondent. International editor Bill Neely and
senior correspondent James Mates will cover stories from around the
globe.
Eddo said: “I am thrilled to be joining ITV News.
“The
challenge for any business journalist is how to find imaginative ways
to tell the story. ITN encourages its reporters to take new approaches.
I’m looking forward to working within that sort of creative environment.”
