Sky Sports reporter Jill Douglas has returned to the BBC to cover its rugby output, starting off with the France versus Wales clash in the Six Nations Championships last weekend. She gave news updates on both teams throughout the game and carried out post-match interviews.
Douglas joined BBC Scotland in 1997 as a sports reporter, eventually presenting Rugby Special, and has worked in various roles across television and radio, reporting for BBC Scotland as well as BBC sports flagship programme Grandstand.
She left to join Sky Sports as a sports news presenter two years later, covering rugby including the Super 12s and National Provincial championships. She also covered European athletics.
Douglas, a life-long rugby fan and married to former Scottish flanker Carl Hogg, said she was “thrilled to be rejoining the BBC Sport team at this time”. A source at Sky Sports said that Douglas would “most likely” not be directly replaced.
